The H47 high-speed patrol boat is designed and manufactured using modern technology, using PPC (polypropylene copolymer) composite material, one of the most advanced materials currently used in the manufacture of ships, boats, canoes... because of its ability to withstand strong impacts, long life, good performance in harsh weather conditions, and is very environmentally friendly.
Deputy Director of Viet - Czech Technology Joint Stock Company Le Van Hoc said that the H47 high-speed patrol boat is more than 13.5m long, nearly 3.5m wide, can carry 12 people, and after a period of testing, it has been licensed by the Ministry of National Defense's inspection agency.
The boat is designed and manufactured using automatic welding and cutting technology, on a European shipbuilding and boat building technology line, with the support of foreign experts. PPC material is waterproof and does not adhere to aquatic species, so it significantly reduces hydraulic resistance, helping the H47 boat reach a maximum speed of more than 30 nautical miles per hour, very suitable for patrolling and performing tasks at sea.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Major General Nguyen Quang Dam, Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, said that putting the H47 high-speed boat into operation will greatly support the coast guard force in patrolling, protecting and enforcing the law at sea.
On behalf of the Vietnam Coast Guard, Major General Nguyen Quang Dam thanked the sponsoring unit, the PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation, and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, and also thanked domestic and foreign organizations and individuals for their interest, encouragement, and support in helping the Coast Guard successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Party, State, and Army.
Ship H47 will be assigned to Coast Guard Region 3 for management and operation.
