Selling fresh peanuts right in the field, farmers earn 3.5 million VND/sao
(Baonghean.vn) - This year's peanut season, harvesting early to sell fresh peanuts, farmers in Con Cuong area earned a profit of 3.5 million VND/sao.
Mr. Pham Van Minh's family in Bai Oi village, Chi Khe commune has 2 sao of peanuts, the entire area uses the local traditional lotus peanut variety. Mr. Minh said: This spring peanut crop, the family sowed since the end of November and has now harvested nearly 500 kg of fresh peanuts, selling for 20,000 VND/kg, while the price of dried peanuts (equivalent to 2 kg of fresh peanuts) is only 30,000 VND/kg.
Similarly, Mr. Bui Dinh Quynh's family in Bai Oi village is also busy harvesting peanuts in the fields with joy and excitement because this year's spring peanuts are not only in season but also have good prices. With an area of 5 sao of peanuts, his family harvested more than 1200 kg of fresh peanuts. According to Mr. Quynh, not only do they have good prices, but selling fresh peanuts also saves people a lot of work in selecting peanuts, drying and preserving them.

As the commune with the largest area of spring peanuts in Con Cuong district, this spring crop, farmers in Chi Khe commune planted 25 hectares. The focus is on Tien Thanh and Bai Oi villages. This is an area with high ground, sandy soil, and no proactive water source, so in the spring crop, most of the land area is planted with peanuts.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thang - Vice Chairman of Chi Khe Commune People's Committee said: This year, people mainly sowed local peanuts and L14 hybrid lotus peanuts. Although the planting time encountered cold damage, killing a lot of areas, thanks to timely planting and care, spring peanuts still ensured productivity, averaging 2.5 quintals/sao of fresh peanuts. Accordingly, from the end of March onwards, people have started harvesting and selling fresh peanuts right in the field, with an average price of 20,000 VND/kg. In total, each sao of spring peanuts people earn nearly 5 million VND, minus expenses, the profit is 3.5 million VND/sao./.
