On the evening of September 20, 2013, Thuong and Xa took a car to take H. to Mong Cai (Quang Ninh) to hand over to Ngan Thi Thong to take to China. Because Ngan Thi Thong could not come, she asked someone else to pick up H. and paid Thuong and Xa 10 million VND.
After taking H. to China, Ngan Thi Thong sold the victim to a Chinese man for 120 million VND. Thong gave H. 40 million VND and sent another 20 million VND back to Vietnam for Thuong and Xa.
After being sold to be the wife of a Chinese man, D.TKH escaped to Vietnam at the end of December 2013 and filed a complaint against the human trafficking of Ngan Thi Thong, Tran Dien Thuong and Lo Thi Phuong Xa.
At the trial, the defendants confessed honestly and showed remorse. The defendants said that due to limited legal awareness, they committed the crime. After considering aggravating and mitigating circumstances, the panel sentenced each defendant to 5 years in prison. The defendants must compensate the victim 3 million VND.
