Premier League Copyright in Vietnam: Will there continue to be exclusivity?
MP&Silva, the copyright owner of NHA 3 season 2016-2019, has just sent an official dispatch to the Vietnam Pay Television Association, rejecting the proposals made by VNPayTV.

Previously, on March 18, VNPayTV sent an official dispatch to two members of MP&Silva, including Ms. Beatrice Lee - Executive Director of Asia-Pacific region, and Mr. Pham Vu Duc - representative of MP&Silva in Vietnam.
The content of the official dispatch of VNPayTV announced the establishment of a Negotiation Board to purchase the copyright of the English Premier League, with a non-exclusive spirit and at a price no more than 20% higher than before.
In response, MP&Silva's official letter affirmed that this unit had won the right to license 28 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. MP&Silva then rejected VNPayTV's requests.
"The Premier League bidding process prohibits the formation of bidding consortia and seeks to ensure that the competition's audiovisual rights are freely distributed.
"As such, MP&Silva is unable to comply with any aspect set out in your letter, due to the commercial restrictions imposed on MP&Silva under the Premier League broadcasting rules," MP&Silva wrote in the letter.
MP&Silva's official letter also said that this unit is aiming to choose a suitable unit to buy the broadcasting rights of the English Premier League next week.
It is known that, besides K+, some Vietnamese television units have contacted MP&Silva./.
