World Cup broadcasting rights: Expensive, no broadcasters have bought them yet.
MP&Silva, the company holding the television broadcasting rights for the 2014 World Cup, has quoted a price of up to $10 million for all 64 matches in Brazil. This price shocked television service providers in Vietnam, as it was significantly higher than the 2010 World Cup.

| The television broadcasting rights for the 2014 World Cup in Vietnam were offered at a price of 10 million USD. |
Reportedly, MP&Silva won the bidding war against competitors for the television rights to the 2014 World Cup with a bid of up to $7 million. Another company had bid $5 million for the World Cup rights package.
Over the past few days, representatives from MP&Silva have been pitching their services to partners in Vietnam. However, the prices they offered were deemed too high by broadcasters. Vietnamese partners argued that, given the current economic difficulties, it's not easy to find sponsors or sell advertising to cover expenses.
Speaking with BONGDAPLUS.VN, representatives from VTV, VTC, and Viettel television stations all affirmed that they do not accept the price demanded by MP&Silva. The television stations are willing to purchase broadcasting rights to serve their viewers, but they will not accept an excessively high price that could set a bad precedent for the future.
It seems the story of World Cup television rights is far from over and promises many unexpected and exciting developments!
