New generation Chevrolet Silverado full-size pickup truck - challenging Ford F 150

At the 100th anniversary event of the Chevrolet pickup line held in Texas, the American car company attracted attention when introducing the 2019 Silverado by helicopter.

The 2019 Silverado does not differ much in design from the previous generation, except for new, more modern details. The car is equipped with LED headlights, a massive grille, and LED daytime running lights.Other changes come from tweaked taillights, chrome dual exhausts, and a suspension that can be raised by 50 mm.

While the new generation F-150 rival uses an aluminum body and many details, the 2019 Silverado remains loyal to high-strength steel and alloy materials. Engine specifications, interior images and other equipment have not been revealed.

The pickup truck segment has been growing rapidly in the US market in the past few years, surpassing traditional sedans and SUVs. In 2017, the Silverado was the second best-selling vehicle after the Ford F-150.

The current generation Chevrolet Silverado offers three engine options, including 3.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8. The price of the American pickup truck starts at $28,300. The rival Ford F-150 standard version with 3.3-liter V6 engine costs from $27,400.
