Isuzu D-max pickup truck has added Type Z version, price from 760 million VND

Still using two types of 2.5 liter and 3.0 liter engines, the Isuzu D-Max Type Z version has some changes in design, and at the same time applies the best warranty policy in the pickup segment in Vietnam.

More than two months after introducing the D-max Type X version at the 2016 Vietnam Auto Show, Isuzu continues to "strengthen" this pickup truck line by adding the 2017 D-max Type Z version. This is somewhat contrary to the previous opinion that Isuzu is slow to innovate its product designs.

In less than 3 months, the Japanese car company has launched 2 new versions of the D-max, in which the newly introduced D-Max Type Z version has 3 options, including: Type Z 2.5 liter 2-wheel drive, manual transmission priced at 760 million VND, Type Z 2.5 liter 2-wheel drive, automatic transmission priced at 800 million VND and Type Z 2.5 liter 2-wheel drive, automatic transmission priced at 840 million VND.

Thus, the Isuzu D-Max Type Z still retains two VGS turbo 2.5 liter and 3.0 liter diesel engine options similar to the two previous versions D-max LS and D-max Type X. In which, the VGS turbo 2.5 liter diesel engine produces 134 horsepower at 3,600 rpm, torque of 320 Nm at 1,800 - 2,800 rpm. The VGS turbo 3.0 liter diesel engine produces up to 161 horsepower, maximum torque of 380 Nm. Both of these engine options on the D-max Type Z are combined with a manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic transmission with a 4x4 2-wheel drive system.

Thus, these two types of engines still meet Euro 2 emission standards, while since 2017 the Euro 4 emission standards have been applied to cars in Vietnam. Explaining this, a representative of Isuzu Vietnam said that Isuzu D-max vehicles use diesel fuel, but the current diesel quality in Vietnam has not yet met the corresponding standards for vehicles equipped with engines meeting Euro 4 emission standards. Therefore, the company is considering the right time to bring Euro 4 emission standard products to Vietnam.

Compared to the old versions, the D-Max Type Z 2017 has a more modern and individual look with black painted details that make the car's appearance more muscular and masculine. Specifically, the radiator grille at the front of the car still retains the trapezoidal design with layered horizontal bars but is painted black. Details such as the exterior rearview mirror cover, door handles, and 17-inch alloy wheels are also painted black. The Type Z version is also equipped with a bodykit with front bumper, side skirts, and fenders. The hood, sides, and rear of the car are decorated with a new, sporty decal.

To increase uniformity, the B-pillar is covered with film and the new trunk roof is also painted in a strong black color. The most outstanding feature is the new roll-up trunk lid and sports frame. In addition, to increase safety, the 2017 D-Max Type Z is also equipped with a rear camera.

Regarding the interior, Isuzu makes the D-max Type Z different from the old versions by using wood materials on some details of the dashboard, door sills, etc. Leather-wrapped steering wheel, integrated multi-function control buttons, chrome-plated inner door handles and leather-wrapped interior, 6-way electric driver's seat.

The safety equipment and entertainment functions on the D-Max Type Z are still inherited from the old version. However, the 2017 D-Max versions, including the D-Max Type Z, are covered by Isuzu Vietnam's 5-year or 200,000 km warranty policy, which is higher than the old version. With this policy, the Isuzu D-Max becomes the model with the longest warranty period in the pickup truck segment in Vietnam.
