On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), the delegation of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee led by Comrade Le Duc Cuong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee, offered incense and flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs at Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery, Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemetery, Quang Tri Ancient Citadel and released flowers on the Thach Han River.

At the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery, in a solemn and respectful atmosphere and with infinite gratitude, the delegation commemorated, offered flowers and incense to commemorate the great contributions of the heroic martyrs - those who devoted their entire youth, sacrificed their blood and bones for the independence and freedom of the country and the happiness of the people.

Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery is the resting place of more than 10,200 martyrs who fell in the Truong Son mountains and forests during the resistance war against the US to save the country, of which Nghe An province alone has nearly 1,300 martyrs' graves.

After the incense offering ceremony at the main memorial, the delegation offered flowers and incense at the memorial stele and burned incense on the graves of martyrs from Nghe An who are buried at the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery.

Visiting the National Martyrs' Cemetery of Route 9 - the resting place of nearly 11,000 heroic martyrs of the main force, local troops, militia and guerrillas and youth volunteers who fought and served on the Route 9 front and in Laos during the resistance war against the US to save the country, comrade Le Duc Cuong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board and other members of the delegation offered flowers and incense to commemorate and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who bravely fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. The National Martyrs' Cemetery of Route 9 currently has the graves of more than 200 martyrs from Nghe An.

Offering flowers and incense at the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Martyrs' Memorial, the delegation expressed deep gratitude for the noble sacrifices and contributions of the heroic martyrs for peace, national independence and national reunification.

Quang Tri Citadel - a famous relic and considered the common grave of soldiers who fell in the fierce 81-day war from June 28 to September 16 in the summer of 1972. Quang Tri Citadel has been recorded in the history of the nation as a shining milestone of revolutionary heroism. Thousands of soldiers have forever rested in the heart of Quang Tri Citadel, so that the country could be independent and unified, and the people could be free, prosperous and happy.

At the flower-releasing dock on the southern bank of Thach Han River, comrade Le Duc Cuong and the working delegation respectfully and solemnly released flowers into the Thach Han River, commemorating the heroic martyrs who bravely fought and sacrificed to protect Quang Tri Citadel in 1972.

Next, the delegation returned to the "steel land" Vinh Linh, respectfully offering flowers and incense at the Monument and graves of martyrs at the district Martyrs Cemetery.

Located in the North of Ben Hai River, Vinh Linh District Martyrs' Cemetery is the largest district-level martyrs' cemetery in Quang Tri province, the resting place of 5,632 heroic martyrs from 41 provinces and cities across the country, including 800 martyrs from Nghe An and Ha Tinh.

During the journey, the delegation visited and offered incense at the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap in Vung Chua - Yen Island in Quang Dong Commune, Quang Trach District, Quang Binh Province. The delegation expressed their gratitude and paid tribute to the legendary general, military genius, excellent and close student of President Ho Chi Minh, and the eldest brother of the Vietnam People's Army. With a passionate love for his country and homeland and outstanding military talent, the General devoted his whole life to national independence, building and defending the Fatherland.
