(Baonghean.vn) - The Acting Head of the Religious Affairs Department - Department of Home Affairs acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of monks, nuns and Buddhists to the local movement in recent times.

On the occasion of the Buddha's birthday, Buddhist calendar 2565 - Gregorian calendar 2021, on May 15, the Religious Affairs Committee - Nghe An Department of Home Affairs led by Mr. Nguyen Van Long, Acting Head of the Committee, visited and congratulated Buddha's birthday at Dong Tuong Pagoda, Lam Son (Quynh Luu), Co Am Pagoda (Dien Chau) and An Thai Pagoda, headquarters of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Quynh Luu district.

At the places visited, the delegation inquired about health, gave gifts, and wished monks, nuns, and Buddhists a happy and joyful Buddha's birthday.

The Acting Head of the Religious Affairs Department - Department of Home Affairs acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of monks, nuns and Buddhists to the local movement in recent times; at the same time, he requested that in the coming time, monks and nuns continue to uphold the exemplary spirit, propagate and mobilize Buddhists to actively work in production, respond to campaigns and patriotic emulation movements to contribute to building the homeland to be more civilized and prosperous.

In the face of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, Mr. Long hopes that monks, nuns, and Buddhists will strictly follow the instructions of Party committees, authorities at all levels, and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha on epidemic prevention and control measures, not organize religious activities with large crowds, contribute to controlling the Covid-19 epidemic well, ensure the safety of Buddhists and people; at the same time, actively participate in the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.

Representing monks and nuns, Venerable Thich Minh Hai, Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Quynh Luu district, thanked the provincial leaders, local Party committees and authorities for their attention, and promised to continue to promote the fine traditions of Buddhism, actively encourage monks and nuns, Buddhists to live a "good life, good religion", strictly comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, especially strictly comply with the directives of the Prime Minister and the Provincial People's Committee on the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic; actively participate in the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term on May 23.
