Central Propaganda Department meets with press, publishing, literature and art agencies in the Central and Central Highlands regions
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 15, at the Military Region 5 Command, the Central Propaganda Department chaired and coordinated with the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and the Da Nang City Party Committee to organize a meeting with press, publishing, literary and artistic agencies in the Central and Central Highlands regions.

Attending the meeting were comrades: Nguyen Trong Nghia - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Tran Thanh Lam - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications; Major General Truong Thien To - Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 5; Do Hong Quan - President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations.
Also attending were leaders of the Central Propaganda Department; General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Military Region 5; Da Nang City Party Committee; Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations; Standing Committees of Provincial Party Committees of some Central and Central Highlands provinces and leaders of press, publishing, literature and arts agencies; and outstanding artists of the Central and Central Highlands regions.

The meeting aimed to strengthen the leadership, direction and management of press, publishing, cultural and artistic activities, and implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress on "Building a professional, humane and modern press and media", "Reviewing the planning of the publishing, printing and distribution industry towards streamlining, quality and modernization" and "Comprehensive human development and building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity so that culture truly becomes an endogenous strength, a driving force for national development and national defense".
At the same time, grasp and evaluate the situation of press, publishing, cultural and artistic activities in the Central and Central Highlands regions in propagating political, economic, cultural, social, defense, security and foreign affairs tasks in the past time; direct and orient key tasks in the coming time.

At the meeting, delegates listened to many enthusiastic and responsible speeches from leaders of a number of agencies and units; in which, they focused on exchanging to strengthen coordination in directing, orienting, and providing information in a timely and accurate manner; proposing solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles, creating favorable conditions for press, publishing, and literary and artistic agencies in the Central and Central Highlands regions to develop sustainably.

Answering some questions related to digital transformation; privatization of newspapers, magazines, electronic news sites, etc.; financial mechanisms of press agencies of delegates at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Anh Tuan said: The Ministry has established a steering committee to guide press and publishing agencies to implement digital transformation, build a shared platform for key press agencies.
Along with that, it is necessary to conduct digital skills training for civil servants and public employees, with priority given to reporters and those working in the press; Develop criteria to identify violations of press privatization, pressification of magazines, and electronic news sites for handling according to the provisions of law. Focus on strictly handling violations of principles and purposes, bad and toxic news sources on social networks, etc.; Press, radio and television agencies must aim to become public service units, gradually increasing the level of autonomy in regular expenditures. Focus on innovating economic mechanisms, through perfecting the financial mechanisms of their agencies.

At the same time, the Deputy Minister of Information and Communications also recommended that the Central and Central Highlands provinces establish a communications department to proactively provide timely information to press agencies. Increase orders to local press agencies, central press agencies, and representative offices of press agencies in the area to improve the quality of propaganda.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department emphasized that in recent times, press, publishing, literary and artistic agencies in the Central and Central Highlands regions have informed, propagated, and widely disseminated important political events of the country and localities; produced many outstanding and quality works in all fields, truly becoming an important bridge between the Party's will and the people's hearts. Thereby, helping to raise awareness and strengthen people's trust in the leadership of the Party and the State; arousing and encouraging patriotism, great national unity; the will to be self-reliant, self-reliant, and the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that in the coming time, Party committees, Party organizations, leaders of directing and managing agencies, governing agencies, press and publishing agencies, and literary and artistic associations in the Central and Central Highlands regions continue to recognize and thoroughly grasp the position, role, and importance of press, publishing, literature, and artistic work in the work of information, propaganda, and promotion of the people's cultural and spiritual life.
From there, continue to closely follow the direction and implementation of the Resolutions and Conclusions of the Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, the National Assembly and the Resolutions, programs and action plans of the Government in all fields; proactively provide information and knowledge, update timely, flexible and effective policies and decisions to solve difficulties, remove obstacles, ensure social security, stabilize people's lives, promote economic and social recovery and development, adapt safely and flexibly, and effectively control the Covid-19 epidemic.
