Vietnam's group at Asiad 2018 is not disrupted
The UAE and Palestine teams were added to groups A and E, instead of re-drawing the football tournament.

At a meeting held in Malaysia on the afternoon of July 25, Palestine was added to Group A, which includes host Indonesia, Hong Kong, Laos and Taiwan. Meanwhile, UAE entered Group E and faced South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia and Bahrain.
Contrary to previous reports, the organizers did not redraw the lots. This means that the other groups B, C, D and F will remain the same with four teams each.Vietnam is in Group D, still facing Japan, Pakistan and Nepal.
Coach Park Hang-seo and his team are training at the PVF Center in Hung Yen, with 30 players. After participating in a friendly tournament from August 3 to August 7, Coach Park Hang-seo will finalize the list of 20 players to go to Indonesia.

Initially, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) decided to re-draw the lots at its headquarters in Malaysia. However, this possibility was rejected after a meeting between the AFC, the Asian Games Organizing Committee and the Olympic Committee of Asia.
The first draw, held on July 5, was hosted by Indonesia at a hotel in the capital Jakarta. They did not include the UAE and Palestine on the list because their applications were late.
The decision not to redraw will ensure that teams do not get disrupted in their preparations for the tournament. Teams that have already studied their opponents will continue with their plans.
