"If we hadn't gotten married, we wouldn't have had the children we have now, so it's understandable that we respect each other," the male singer shared.

- Have your work and income been affected much by the epidemic in recent months?

It is true that Covid-19 has brought many worries and pressures to everyone, but no matter what, we must calmly face it. Personally, I am luckier than many people because I have returned to Vietnam and can sing, so I do not complain much about this. Of course, in the US, everything still has to be paid for, so there are more difficulties than before. However, looking at it positively, I am still living well and am luckier than many others.

The cruelty of the profession - do you ever feel pressured? Why do I ask that because you were close to comedian Chi Tai who performed many skits with you when he was in Vietnam and when he passed away, you could not cancel the show to see him off for the last time? Or musician Lam Phuong - who had many successful compositions performed by you, when he passed away, you could not return to the US to pay your respects?

Not only me but everyone will face economic pressure at this time. The passing of comedian Chi Tai and musician Lam Phuong left me, many colleagues and audiences with much regret. It is fate that cannot be resisted. I believe that the happiest artist is the one whose work, whether still existing or gone, remains in the love of the audience. For me, Chi Tai and Lam Phuong will always be in everyone's hearts and will never disappear, that is for sure!

- Your ex-wife Trizzie Phuong Trinh recently posted on Facebook that if she got back together, she would still marry you and have no regrets. It seems like you were generous enough to make her cherish you even though you broke up?

Trizzie Phuong Trinh and I have been together for a while and have lovely children together. If we had not gotten married, how could we have children like we do now, so it is understandable that we both respect each other. Currently, Trizzie Phuong Trinh is the one who takes care of the children completely. Also because of Covid-19, I have been away from my children for a long time when I returned to Vietnam, so I miss them very much. However, due to the circumstances, I have to accept it, everything is still good at the moment.

- Even though you and your father are far apart, you still talk and keep in touch regularly. Are there any difficult questions your children ask that make you think? Your children are all artistically inclined, so you must be very happy that they will soon become colleagues with their father?

My children are still in high school at an art school in the US. My policy is to support them to develop their talents without forcing them. The eldest brother Beckam is becoming more and more daring when he freely composes and plays the guitar in his own way. He seems to be influenced by his mother because he likes Rock music. As for my two sons, they have not shown much artistic inclination. As long as my children are happy, healthy and well-behaved, I am happy and have not discussed the future much.

- You are a gardener, love plants, this time you are back in Vietnam for a long time, I wonder who will replace Bang Kieu to take care of the plants? Can you reveal a little about the concert 'Prosperity Garden' taking place on January 12, 2021 at the National Convention Center in Hanoi?

My mother is 76 years old this year and she is also the one who takes care of the garden for me when I am away from home for a long time. As for the concertProsperous GardenIn the near future, I will be sharing the stage with My Tam, Thu Phuong, and I hear that there are also very young and talented rappers. I have worked many times with director Pham Hoang Giang, we understand each other very well. We also want to have songs that are well-prepared and full of emotions from the staging to the singing, with the hope of bringing beautiful moments to the audience in the first days of the new year full of hope.

- Will you celebrate Lunar New Year in Vietnam or return to the US to reunite with your children?

I will celebrate Tet in Vietnam. Without my children and mother by my side, I feel like something is missing, but in Vietnam I have relatives and many artist friends and comrades in arms, so I don't have to live alone. For me, I gain some and lose some, so there's nothing to complain about. Moreover, I call my mother and children every day, so it doesn't feel too far away. I also hope that in a while, when there is a vaccine, everything will return to normal.
