Gangs in Bangkok clashed in a shootout, killing a tourist.

A shootout ensued.between two teenage gangs in the central Pratunam district of Bangkok, an area that usually attracts many tourists.AFPAccording to Thai police sources.

Three young men, armed with rifles, had arranged to settle a dispute with their rivals following a nearby argument.Witnesses said that about 20 people armed with handguns, knives, and sticks surrounded the three young men, causing them to open fire.

A group of Indian tourists were waiting for a bus at the time of the shooting. Gakhrejr Dheeraj, 42, an Indian tourist, died in the hospital from gunshot wounds. Four others were injured. Thai police initially stated that Keovongsa Thonekeo, a Laotian tourist, also died in the shooting but later corrected that he was still alive.

Police have not yet determined the type of weapon used, but said they found AK-47 shell casings at the scene. "We are searching for members of this gang," Bangkok police spokesperson Krissana Pattanacharoen stated.
