Salt and chili grilled bread is made from simple loaves of bread but transformed into a new dish, making many young people fascinated. Recently, this dish has started to spread in Saigon and some other places. |
The owner of this grilled bread shop is a young man who grew up in Da Lat city. His sandwich shop is currently located in front of Doan Thi Diem school gate on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia street. “It was also by chance that in my free time I didn’t know what to do, a friend showed me how to make this dish. So I brought the stove to the school gate to sell to students. It’s been 3 years since the upcoming school year,” the sandwich shop owner shared. |

The hardest part is flattening the bread. Then, it is grilled on a grill with hot coals. While it is grilling, the bread is brushed with a thin layer of butter and satay sauce, turned over until golden brown, and then taken down. |
When guests arrive, the cake will be grilled and covered with a layer of satay sauce again for a richer flavor. |
Whether the cake is delicious or not depends on the skillful seasoning of the maker, ensuring the sauce is not too spicy or greasy. The bakery owner said: "Many places now add additional ingredients, but our place has kept the same recipe and ingredients since the beginning of our business." |
The salt and pepper grilled bread at the corner of Nam Ky Khoi Nghia street comes with shredded pork, sausage, mayonnaise and chili sauce. If you can’t handle spicy food, you can ask the seller to not add chili sauce. |
The baked cake box always stands out with its golden color on the outside. Biting into the crispy cake has a spicy taste, fragrant with the smell of butter mixed with mayonnaise sauce and shredded pork, making anyone who has tried it impressed. |
Each time it takes about 3-4 minutes to make a sandwich for a customer, it can take longer when there are many customers. Knowing this, the sandwich shop owner always smiles and finds funny stories to tell everyone, making the street corner bustling. |
