Man fined 750,000 VND for 'fake' report
Involved in a traffic accident, taken to the emergency room and then reported to the police that his car had been stolen, a man in Ba Ria - Vung Tau was fined for reporting false information.
On August 10, the Vung Tau City Police Investigation Agency issued a decision to administratively fine Mr. Tran Ly Phuoc Loi (31 years old, residing on Bach Dang Street, Phuoc Hiep Ward, Ba Ria City) VND 750,000 for reporting false information to competent state agencies.
Previously, on July 21, Mr. Tran Ly Phuoc Loi went to the Criminal Police Department (PC45 - Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police) to report that his motorbike was robbed on the evening of July 20 in Vung Tau city.
According to Mr. Loi, at that time he was driving his motorbike to a tourist area in Ward 10, Vung Tau city, when he was attacked by a group of young men who robbed his Wave RSX motorbike and documents in the trunk.
After receiving information from PC45, Vung Tau City Police verified, investigated and determined that the information Mr. Loi reported was not true.
Specifically, this man's motorbike was not robbed, but on the contrary, this motorbike was involved in a traffic accident and is currently being held at the Vung Tau Traffic Police Department.
Accordingly, at around 8:00 p.m. on July 20, Mr. Loi was riding a motorbike on Thuy Van Street, Vung Tau City, in the direction from Bai Sau to Bai Truoc when he had a traffic accident with a motorbike driven by Ms. Do Xuan Truc (23 years old, residing in Chau Duc district) traveling in the same direction ahead.
After the accident, Mr. Loi was taken to the emergency room by passersby and the motorbike was taken to the police station by traffic police.
Mr. Loi should have gone to the traffic police to resolve the accident, but instead went to the criminal police to report his car being stolen.
