Typhoon Bebinca in China disrupts air travel.

By the evening of June 22, 110 flights had been canceled and 37 others delayed at Phoenix Airport on Hainan Island.

A total of 147 flights were delayed or canceled, leaving more than 8,200 passengers stranded at airports, as tropical storm Bebinca made landfall in southern China on June 22.

Chinese media, citing sources from Phoenix International Airport in Hainan province, reported that by last night (June 22), 110 flights had been canceled and 37 others delayed at the airport.

Bebinca is the first tropical storm of the year to hit China. The Chinese meteorological agency forecasts heavy rainfall in Hainan, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and other areas in southern China.
