Belgian newspaper tells surprising truth about Cong Phuong
Belgian newspaper Nieuwsblad quoted a media staff member of Sint Truidense Club making a surprising comment about Vietnam national team striker Nguyen Cong Phuong.
In the opening match of the new season on the morning of July 28, although his name was on the registration list, Cong Phuong did not get to play a single minute. In this match, Cong Phuong's team played poorly and lost 0-1.
Thus, Cong Phuong still cannot have an official debut at Sint Truidense.
In the second round of the Jupiler Pro League, Sint Truidense will face many difficulties when they have to visit the famous Club Brugge, at 1:30 a.m. on August 3, Vietnam time. The chance for Cong Phuong to play in this match is still considered very low.

According to Sint Truidense media staff, since Cong Phuong signed a contract with the club, the team's Facebook and Instagram fan pages have seen a sudden increase in followers, mainly from Vietnam. To date, Sint Truidense's Facebook page has 70,000 fans following it, while the number on Instagram is more than 12,000.
It is known that in the first match that Cong Phuong played for Sint Truidense (against Lommel SK on July 17), there were about 50 Vietnamese fans cheering from the stands. Most of them traveled from Germany.

Evaluating Cong Phuong, the media representative of the Belgian football team said: "Cong Phuong was brave when he chose to escape from the star life in Vietnam, going to Sint Truidense as an unknown person on the street.
He is trying to do better every day. We hope that he will soon reach his best condition. Cong Phuong is a big star in Vietnam, but not everyone knows him in Europe."
