(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of September 28, the Provincial People's Committee held a press conference to announce the socio-economic situation of the province in the third quarter of 2016. Comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the press conference.

The meeting was attended by representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors, and representatives of central and local press agencies.

According to the report, the total product in the province in the first 9 months of 2016 (according to 2010 comparative prices) is estimated to reach over 45,315 billion VND, an increase of 7.05% over the same period. Among the 3 economic sectors, the industrial - construction sector increased higher than the same period last year (in the first 9 months of 2015, it increased by 9.61%).

An encouraging sign in those 9 months was that a number of factories officially came into operation, including Hoa Sen Nghe An Factory in Dong Hoi Industrial Park, Son Ha Factory, Cargill Animal Feed Factory, Vinatex Hoang Mai Garment Factory, Nghe An Wood Processing Factory (Phase I) creating new capacity to promote economic growth in the province.

In particular, many projects have been started such as Cua Hoi bridge over Lam river, Vinpearl Cua Hoi hotel complex, entertainment area, and resort villas. Along with that, a number of projects and routes have been inaugurated and opened to traffic such as: Yen Xuan road bridge, Nghe An wood processing factory, Muong Thanh Grand Hoang Mai hotel, Vinatex Hoang Mai garment factory, National Highway 1A - Nghia Dan - Thai Hoa, etc.

The forest fire occurred on July 12, 2016 in Nam Kim (Nam Dan).

However, the economic growth rate in the first 9 months was still lower than the plan, there were 46 forest fires with more than 87 hectares burned; the phenomenon of dead fish in the central coast made seafood consumption difficult, low selling prices, affecting the efficiency of seafood exploitation of fishermen, as well as sea tourism services were the difficulties that were emphasized by the representative of the Department of Planning and Investment at the press conference.

Solutions to promote socio-economic development of the province in the last 3 months of the year have been informed to the press.

There were nearly 10 opinions raised by press agencies at the press conference. They mainly focused on the quality of national standard schools, when recently 13 schools had their titles revoked, the situation of students at 2 schools in Tan Ky studying the VNEN program having to use photocopied textbooks; requesting the province to promptly respond to the phenomenon of dead fish in the Bung River, paying attention to calling on businesses to invest in developing agricultural products, solutions to the problem of increasing import-export revenue; the progress of implementing Decision 24/2016 of the Prime Minister on one-time subsidies for people with achievements in participating in the resistance war who were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister, Certificates of Merit by Ministers, ministerial-level agencies, heads of government agencies, Certificates of Merit by Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; the naming of streets in the city still has many shortcomings such as the same famous person having 2 streets and a number of other issues.

Mr. Thai Huy Vinh - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training clarified the reason why 13 schools had their national standard school titles revoked.

Representatives of relevant departments and sectors have clearly answered the issues raised by the newspapers. Specifically regarding the phenomenon of fish deaths in the Bung River, Mr. Vo Van Ngoc - Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment said that the results of water source monitoring showed that the dissolved oxygen content in the water in the area where the fish died was low, only 0.2 mg/l, while the oxygen content needed for fish to live is 0.4 mg/l. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has sent fish samples for testing and will soon have an answer for the people.

During the 3 days from September 17 to 19, more than 1.5 tons of fish in Bung River died abnormally.

Regarding the implementation of Decision 24/2016 of the Prime Minister, Ms. Ho Thi Chau Loan - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that after the decision was issued, the province issued a document to advise and guide localities in implementation. As of September 26, 2016, the whole province estimated that there were more than 50,000 beneficiaries with a total estimated budget of over 60,000 billion VND. Currently, the districts are gradually reviewing and approving the documents and sending them to the Department. Accordingly, the Department will submit to the Central Government for funding in installments.

However, in some cases, the information is not consistent with the functions, tasks and principles of the governing body. There is still the phenomenon of duplicate information, or the same incident is reported by all newspapers, which does not reflect the multi-dimensional perspective of each press agency and each journalist. Some press agencies exploit and publish false information, lack political sensitivity and have a negative impact on public opinion. Some information is not accurate and complete, greatly affecting the management and operation of the locality, causing public confusion.

In the coming time, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Minh Thong requested press agencies to continue to disseminate and widely propagate the Resolution and action program to implement the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress; reflect the exciting atmosphere in localities in implementing the resolutions of Party congresses at all levels into real life. Promote propaganda on Party building, government building, introduce the potential advantages of the province to attract investment and tourists; replicate effective economic models in the area; build new rural areas, encourage all people to compete in labor production, and exceed the tasks and plans of 2016./.
