German press compares photos of Trump talking with Putin and Merkel

A reporter from the German newspaper Bild compared the photo of US President Trump taken while talking with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and the conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The journalist came to the conclusion that Trump was much more serious in his phone call with President Putin than when talking with Chancellor Merkel.

In the journalist's opinion, the importance of the phone call can also be seen through the details of who was around Trump when the US President spoke.

During Trump's phone call with the Russian leader, Vice President Michael Pence, White House spokesman Sean Spicer, White House Chief of Staff Pribus Rhines, Chief Advisor Stephen Bannon and National Security Advisor Michael Flynn were present.

Meanwhile, at the negotiations with the German Chancellor, only Flynn was present beside Trump. Officials Bannon and Pribus were also present in the office, but they were busy with other things.

The author of the article noted that compared to the phone call with Ms. Merkel, Trump's conversation with Mr. Putin lasted nearly 15 minutes longer.
