This afternoon (July 11), Secretary General of the National Assembly Nguyen Hanh Phuc said that from now on, the press will be allowed to attend the first 5 minutes of the meetings of the National Assembly Standing Committee (for filming purposes - PV).

Reporters were present at the Press Center on the morning of July 11 but could no longer follow the discussion on screen as usual.

Regarding the reason why reporters were not allowed to listen to discussions like in previous meetings, Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc said that it was to allow the comrades in the Standing Committee to discuss and speak about all issues, speak in depth, and not be afraid of confidential information being "accidentally" mentioned.

“Sometimes when the press comes in, they are shy and cannot express everything. There are top secret issues that cannot be discussed with the press, but if they are discussed, they have to ask the press not to publish them,” the Secretary General of the National Assembly shared.

“We are carefully preparing the press release for this morning’s meeting. In the afternoon, there will be a press release on the contents, and then there will be the conclusion of the National Assembly Standing Committee. The content is very thorough and complete,” Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc added.

This means that reporters will no longer be able to follow discussions on the same topics as before.

At previous meetings of the National Assembly Standing Committee, many press agencies were invited to report and promote the proceedings. However, at the 12th session that opened this morning (July 11), the press was only allowed to attend the first 5 minutes of the opening ceremony.

According to the program, this morning, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on the maximum fine in the field of religion; give opinions on the assessment of the 3rd session of the National Assembly and give initial opinions on the content of the 4th session agenda./.
