Nghe An press sticks closely to reality, fulfills the 'dual' task of information and propaganda

Stick to reality

In July, press agencies in the province continued to closely follow and produce many quality news and articles in all areas of life, basically meeting the information needs of the people. Notably, in the field of current affairs and politics, they promptly and comprehensively informed about the directions and related activities of the Central leaders in Nghe An province; along with the results of the 15th session of the Provincial People's Council, term XVII, 2016 - 2021; the preparation and organization of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, towards the 13th National Congress of the Party; some shortcomings and difficulties after implementing Resolution No. 18 - NQ/TW of the Party Central Committee on "Some issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined, effective and efficient"; typical collectives and individuals in studying the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh...

In the socio-economic field, the press has reflected hot issues of public concern such as site clearance, administrative reform, abnormal price increases, drought and natural disasters occurring in the province...

In particular, the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic in the province is the central content that the press is interested in, strongly and synchronously propagating the directions of the Central and the province on disease prevention and control. Thereby, it contributes significantly to orienting public opinion, creating trust and consensus among the people in the province; promptly refuting fake news, rumors, and untrue news that affect the province's disease prevention and control work.

At the conference, representatives of press agencies focused on discussing issues related to the 2020 high school graduation exam such as: transparency of the exam marking process; building a team of exam supervisors with standards of ethics and responsibility; ensuring exam safety in the complicated situation of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition, representatives of some press agencies were interested in the shortcomings in the implementation of the Project to support the socio-economic development of the O Du ethnic group in Nghe An province; buying and selling health certificates at some district-level hospitals; the progress of implementing the project to arrange the province's press; the Project "Propaganda, mobilization, guidance for farmers in production, business and consumption of safe agricultural products and food in the period of 2020 - 2023".

Regarding these issues, Mr. Kha Van Tam, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, said that the incident related to the project to support the O Du ethnic group is being investigated by the authorities for handling according to regulations.

The role and responsibility of the press agencies at this time is to focus on the role and significance of continuing to implement the project in the following years. At the same time, the team of journalists needs to focus on constructive news and articles to provide people with new models and good ways to help them stabilize their livelihoods and escape poverty sustainably.

For the high school graduation exam, medical staff are arranged at all testing sites to ensure health care and disease prevention in a safe manner.

The remaining issues raised by delegates at the conference were specifically explained by representatives of departments and branches.

The press takes "build to fight"

Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Kha Van Tam emphasized that recently, many press agencies have strongly innovated in investing in improving quality, creating valuable press works. However, there are still some press works that do not reflect the true nature of the issue, or intentionally use sensational headlines to attract likes...

Therefore, in the coming time, the team of journalists in the province needs to implement well the principles of revolutionary journalism, taking "building to fight", thereby creating a healthy and positive information environment. From there, well perform the "dual" task of ensuring political integrity and promptly and vividly reflecting emerging current issues.

Regarding the propaganda orientation in the coming time, comrade Kha Van Tam emphasized that the press agencies system needs to strengthen the news lines and articles highlighting the Party Congresses at all levels; the preparation and organization of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, towards the 13th National Congress of the Party. At the same time, continue to propagate the results of implementing the Party Congress Resolution in conjunction with the results of implementing the Resolutions of the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th Central Committees.

At the same time, propagandize and reflect on activities to celebrate upcoming holidays and important political events such as: the 75th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2020) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2020); the 90th anniversary of the Nghe Tinh Soviet (September 12, 1930 - September 12, 2020); the 110th anniversary of the birth of comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai (September 30, 1910 - September 30, 2020) and the 118th anniversary of the birth of General Secretary Le Hong Phong (September 6, 1902 - September 6, 2020)...

At the same time, strengthen propaganda work on the implementation of the direction of the Party, the Government, the Central Steering Committee and Steering Committees at all levels in the province on Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control; regularly update information on the developments of the epidemic situation to propagate, raise awareness and sense of responsibility of everyone in participating in epidemic prevention and control, not to be subjective and negligent in the face of the complicated developments of the current epidemic.
