(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 27th, in Vinh City, the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association held its 7th Congress for the 2015-2020 term.

Attending the event were Comrade Tran Gia Thai - Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Major General Doan Ngoc Son - Deputy Head of Political Affairs of Military Region 4; and representatives from the Journalists Associations of Ha Tinh and Thua Thien Hue provinces. From Nghe An province, attendees included: Comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Comrade Le Ba Hung - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Propaganda Department; representatives from the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; and 261 members from 14 branches.

Previously, at the first session, the Congress approved the agenda, elected the presidium, reported on the working regulations of the Congress, reported on comments on the draft of the Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association, carried out the nomination and election of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association of Nghe An province for the 2015-2020 term, and nominated and elected delegates to the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association (2015-2020 term).

The political report presented by Comrade Tran Duy Ngoan - Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association for the 2010-2015 term - at the Congress affirmed: Over the past five years, along with the continuous development of the press nationwide, the press in Nghe An has become an important force, a source of official information and an indispensable part of cultural and spiritual life in society. The provincial press has been striving to effectively fulfill its function as the mouthpiece of the Party, the State, and socio-political organizations, a reliable forum for the people, contributing to guiding public opinion at sensitive times to stabilize politics, develop the economy, culture, and society, and making an important contribution to the success of the renewal of the homeland and the country.

This achievement is thanks to the Provincial Journalists Association's effective work in educating all journalist members on political ideology; coordinating with media agencies to invite reputable journalists to organize professional training courses on modern journalism; and promptly and fully paying out benefits, prize money, and high-quality journalistic works to member authors.

During the 2015-2020 term, the Provincial Journalists Association directed its branches to focus on promoting the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress, bringing the Party's Resolutions and Directives, and the State's policies and laws into practice. It continued to innovate its operational methods, improve the quality of training and education in political qualities, professional skills, and professional ethics for all members. It effectively implemented the regulations on coordinating press management and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members. It also continued to implement Directive 03 of the Politburo on "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh" in an effective and practical manner...
