Nghe An press strives to overcome difficulties, accompanying the development of the province

Today, sharing the joy and excitement of welcoming the new year, celebrating the glorious Party's 93 springs, journalists in Uncle Ho's homeland jubilantly opened the Quy Mao Spring Newspaper Festival 2023 and awarded the Nghe An province's Golden Hammer and Sickle Press Award 2022, launching the response to the Golden Hammer and Sickle Press Award 2023.

The Spring Press Festival is a cultural and spiritual activity that has become an annual tradition of the press, an opportunity to honor the achievements of innovation of Nghe An press and the press of the whole country. This is also a place for journalists to meet and exchange with the press community, connecting the press with local authorities and businesses, creating conditions for people to enjoy the dedicated, creative and attractive press products of the press team throughout the year.

It can be affirmed that 2022 is a year full of fluctuations. Having successfully controlled the Covid-19 epidemic and restored the socio-economic situation, Nghe An has had to suffer natural disasters such as floods in some delta districts and a historic flash flood in Ky Son district, causing great losses in human lives and property. In that general context, press activities in Nghe An, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, have strived to overcome and adapt to excellently complete their tasks.

Nghe An press has comprehensively and promptly reported on important political events of the country and the province such as: The 132nd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday; Sen Village Festival, the 120th anniversary of comrade Le Hong Phong's birthday; the 250th anniversary of the birth and 200th anniversary of the death of poetess Ho Xuan Huong, the art program "Immortal epic", "Unforgettable song" to celebrate the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day and the 54th anniversary of Truong Bon Victory...

The press has also fully and correctly informed complex and sensitive issues occurring in the area; propagated and reflected clearly the socio-economic management solutions of the province, departments, branches and localities; foreign affairs activities, promoting the image of Nghe An country and people to the whole country and the world.

In particular, Nghe An Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Newspaper and many central press agencies have devoted a lot of time, written many profound and touching articles and images to propagandize the prevention and overcoming of natural disaster consequences, restoring socio-economic development, ensuring security and national defense. In addition, the press has performed well the role of social supervision and criticism, resolutely fighting against corruption, waste and negative acts; discovering and encouraging new factors, advanced models, attracting investment; refuting the wrong viewpoints and arguments of hostile forces, contributing to strengthening trust in the Party and the government, creating consensus among the people. Many works and authors of the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association have won high prizes at national press awards, press awards of central ministries and branches and of the province.

2022 is the 7th year Nghe An has responded to the Press Writing Contest on the theme of Party Building called Golden Hammer and Sickle launched by the Central Government. Under the direction of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Press Award of Nghe An province, the Provincial Journalists Association coordinated with the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department to issue an official dispatch to launch and develop the award rules, receiving positive responses from a large number of reporters, members, and press agencies operating in the area.

Among thousands of published and broadcast works, press agencies and authors have selected to send to the organizing committee 98 works in 5 types of journalism: Print, electronic, radio, television and press photos. In general, the works comprehensively, vividly and multi-dimensionally reflect the work of Party building, building the political system, and successfully implementing the policies of the Party Congress Resolutions at all levels in Nghe An in 2022. Many works have discovered and praised good deeds, typical and advanced Party members and cadres to spread and encourage the movement; at the same time, they reflect existing problems, fight against negative behaviors, corruption, waste, contributing to the cause of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the province.

The Jury of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award of the province, in the spirit of democracy, responsibility, honesty and objectivity, unanimously selected the 40 best works to honor and award prizes at today's ceremony. This is the recognition and praise for the sense of responsibility and passion for journalism of the authors and groups of authors, who have made every effort to produce excellent works on a topic considered broad, dry and difficult, but also very rich and vivid such as the topic of Party building...

The Vietnamese press in general, and the Nghe An press in particular, are in the flow of innovation and development, placing on their shoulders the noble mission of serving the interests of the nation and people, for the happiness of the people. Faced with increasingly high requirements and great responsibilities, the team of journalists and press agencies in the area must make even more efforts, affirming their leading role and position in orienting public opinion.

The press must actively promote and encourage new role models, spread the national value system, and build an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity. The press needs to be a pioneer in digital transformation, innovate management and production processes, improve the quality of its staff in terms of expertise, professionalism, and train political qualities and ethics. Each journalist is truly a soldier on the Party's ideological and cultural front, with a bright mind, pure heart, sharp pen, and courage to fight to contribute to building a professional, modern, and humane Vietnamese press...

A new spring has come to every home and every person. Sharing the joy of the achievements that the Party Committee and people of Nghe An have achieved in the past year, preparing to welcome the new year, on behalf of the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association, I would like to sincerely thank the leadership of the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council, the People's Committee, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the coordination and support of the departments, branches, provincial unions and agencies, businesses and people in the province. I hope that the Party Committees and authorities at all levels will continue to create favorable conditions for the press to receive support resources and orders from the State in investing in facilities, equipment for program production, creating works, ensuring legitimate income for the team of journalists. Especially creating favorable conditions for press operations in accordance with the law; have the earliest access to official information sources provided to the public, avoiding the situation where information on the press is slower than on social networks, so that the press can continue to maintain trust and affirm its role and position in the hearts of readers.
