Foreign press reports on new Vietnamese Prime Minister

AP news agency wrote that on April 7, the Vietnamese National Assembly elected Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc as Prime Minister. In a speech broadcast on national television, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc pledged to promote reforms, fight corruption and protect the country's sovereignty.
Nguyen Xuan Phuc, 61, will steer Vietnam’s rising economy as the country pursues deep market reforms. The biggest challenges the new prime minister will face include resolving tensions in the South China Sea and economic reform, Japan’s Kyodo news agency wrote.
The Straits Times (Singapore) also reported that Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc was elected as the head of the Vietnamese Government with the mentioned task of continuing extensive economic reform in the coming time.
Channel News Asia said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will lead Vietnam's emerging economy amid growing pressure to reform the banking system and state sector.
Taking the oath before the National Assembly, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc pledged allegiance to the country, the people and the Constitution of Vietnam. The new Prime Minister also declared to increase the effectiveness of the fight against corruption and waste, and firmly protect the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity - Channel News Asia wrote.

Xinhua News Agency reported that with 446/490 votes, the Vietnamese National Assembly elected Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc as Prime Minister at the 11th session of the 13th National Assembly in Hanoi.
