The 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, which is about to take place in Hanoi, is attracting the attention of experts, scholars and international media.

Many opinions expressed confidence that the Congress will be a great success, passing correct decisions to develop Vietnam into a rich and strong country, as well as further strengthening people's trust in the leadership of the Party and State.

In recent days, the British news agency Reuters has published articles about Vietnam's preparations for the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, in which it especially recorded the people's feelings before the great national event. That is the strong belief in the Party's leadership, the expectation of a successful Congress, contributing to further consolidating the Party's leadership role and successfully taking advantage of the country's achievements in economic and social development.

Citing Vietnam's impressive annual gross domestic product (GDP) growth of 6.0% on average over the past five years and 2.9% in 2020 despite the pandemic severely affecting most other economies in the world, the author quoted Mr. Tran Sy Chuong, former Economic and Monetary Policy Advisor of the US Banking Commission, as emphasizing: "A large number of businesses have transferred capital to Vietnam. That wave of FDI has created momentum for Vietnam in the past year to achieve positive GDP growth and continue to grow well in 2021. This is the advantage that the country needs."

A commentary in the Korean newspaper Asia Today stated,XIII CongressThe upcoming 2020 National Assembly of the Communist Party of Vietnam will contribute to bringing about even stronger new developments, towards socio-economic development goals as well as multilateral goals revolving around peace, security and prosperity in the region and globally. According to the article, although still facing challenges related to infrastructure, human resources and sustainable development, Vietnam has great ambitions in transforming its economy to productivity, based on innovation, promoting reforms for inclusive development, catching up and following global trends.

This is also the opinion of ASEAN economist, Mr. Edward Teather at UBS Research Institute. According to this expert, although like many other countries suffering losses from the impact of Covid-19, Vietnam is still one of the brightest spots in the region and this is thanks to the strong and proactive leadership of the Party and State of Vietnam.

“Vietnam is suffering from the impact of Covid-19 but remains one of the brightest spots in the region. Vietnam is growing and is well positioned to continue to gain global market share in the export sector in the future. The Vietnamese government, with its available incentives, is trying to push the country’s economy further,” said Mr. Edward Teather.

The Asia Times, based in Hong Kong (China), “decoded” the trust of the Vietnamese people, with the clearest evidence being Vietnam’s success story in controlling the Covid-19 epidemic. According to the article, this result is not only thanks to effective measures of blockade, control, tracing and propaganda, but more deeply, it is the “high trust” of the people in the Communist Party of Vietnam, in the leadership and efforts of the Party to solve the country’s urgent problems.

Meanwhile, the Russian political magazine “Multipolar World” published an article titled “The 13th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam - the path to new achievements” by Dr. Evgeny Kobelev, a senior researcher at the Center for Vietnam and ASEAN Studies, Institute of the Far East, Russian Academy of Sciences. In the article, Dr. Kobelev affirmed: “The 13th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam takes place nearly a year after the 90th anniversary of its founding. And during those 90 years, the Party has led the Vietnamese people to achieve many glorious historical achievements.”

According to the author, as the vanguard army - the Communist Party of Vietnam from the very first days of its operation until now has always shown itself to be an organization that is constantly creative, with bold decisions, not following conventional standards, crystallized by national solidarity./.
