Warning of poor quality plastic products flooding the market
(Baonghean.vn) - Household plastic products are chosen by many people because of their durability and diverse designs. However, there are currently many cheap plastic products that pose a potential threat to consumers' health.
In addition to supermarkets and large stores in Vinh city, consumers can easily find and buy plastic household products at places such as sidewalks, markets, residential areas, universities, etc. For only 10,000 - 20,000 VND, customers can freely choose their favorite plastic products, from hair clips to bowls, plates, buckets and basins. Most people prefer plastic products because they are quite cheap, durable and convenient.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh in Hung Binh ward said: “My family has small children, so using plastic items is a top priority. No fear of breakage and danger to children.”
According to observations, almost all products here belong to processing facilities, many products have no labels, production addresses are stacked in long piles. And no one dares to be sure whether these plastic products are of guaranteed quality or not.
It is worth mentioning that cheap plastic goods are currently being smuggled into rural markets, turning rural markets into ideal places to consume fake and poor quality goods.

At Ban Don market (Chau Quang commune, Quy Hop district), all household plastic products are introduced by sellers as "company goods" for liquidation at preferential prices. With just a speaker turned up at full capacity, sellers can freely convey and advertise their products "clearing inventory, same price 10K, buy 3 get 1 free...". Making anyone passing by visit the booth at least once with surprisingly cheap prices.
For example, plastic plates and cups with eye-catching printed patterns of unclear origin are offered by sellers as “buy two get one free” at promotional prices of only 10,000 - 15,000 VND. Ms. Lo Thi Anh (Chau Tien commune, Quy Hop district) is quickly choosing the goods and said: “I just bought them when I saw they were cheap. I heard the company advertised the goods but I don’t know how to mix the real and the fake.”
When we wondered why the product had no label, the seller explained: "You can buy it with confidence. This is a clearance sale item, so why would it need a label? If it had a label, the price wouldn't be this cheap. These are all surplus or defective products from the company, so they're being liquidated."

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan in Tan Ky town: "I bought 6 plastic cups for 20,000 VND. When I poured hot water into them, the cups had a very unpleasant plastic smell. I bought them and had to throw them away, not daring to use them anymore."
Nowadays, many food stores also use plastic products. The simple reason is that plastic boxes are cheap, super light and can be easily transported, convenient for busy people who do not have time. However, few people know that these products are made of recycled plastic, when containing hot, sour, salty food can cause food poisoning. Foaming agents and toxic chemicals in plastic can affect health.
In addition to the above ingredients, plastic products also contain BPA - a cause of cancer in humans. Not only that, BPA also affects the brain, causing a delay in the development of the central nervous system, and is the culprit in causing hepatitis, hormonal disorders and infertility.
Using affordable products with beautiful designs is one of the criteria of today's consumers. Besides, consumers need to be smart to choose good and safe products, protecting their health and living environment./.
