La Stampa believes that the fact that the cultural exchanges between East Asia and the West are still seriously preserved in Hoi An is what attracts tourists here with unforgettable impressions.
La Stampa writes: "Beautiful houses with meticulous and unique details that make people curious, tiled roofs and rows of wooden pillars visible from the entrance, symbols to protect people from bad luck... For those who like Asian culture, Hoi An has it all: pagodas, bridges, houses with Chinese or Vietnamese designs. Those looking for Western features can encounter French-style architecture."
According to the article, Italian tourists can come to Hoi An and enjoy the festivals here, including magical full moon nights, when the old town turns off all the lights, leaving only "glittering in the lantern light lit by every house, every shop, every street."
The newspaper emphasized that, when returning, tourists will not only have a luggage full of culture here, but also interesting culinary experiences with traditional dishes. La Stampa also introduced some addresses of affordable restaurants, cafes and hotels in Hoi An for Italian tourists.
Recently, the Italian press and other countries have continuously introduced Vietnam as an ideal destination for tourists. Over the past year, the newspapers La Repubblica and La Stampa, as well as specialized travel magazines such as Dove and Conde Nast Traveller in Italian, have written about many localities in Vietnam, such as Sapa, Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, the Mekong Delta and Hoi An.
According to statistics given at the Vietnam Tourism Promotion Conference held in Rome in early January, the number of Italian visitors reached 50,000 out of a total of about 7 million international tourists in 2013./.
