Nanny in Saigon used knife to threaten and beat many children
The owner and nanny in District 12 (HCMC) regularly beat, kick, and smash plastic cans on the heads of 2-4 year old children of workers.
On the afternoon of November 26, District 12 Police and functional forces went to Mam Xanh kindergarten in Hiep Thanh ward, after receiving information that the owner Pham Thi My Linh and nannies had abused dozens of children.
Many families whose children were sent here came and shouted loudly. They knocked on the door, calling for Ms. Linh to come out and talk. Many parents hugged their children and cried bitterly. People around also gathered to discuss.
The authorities temporarily suspended the facility and invited Ms. Linh to the ward for questioning.

According to Tuoi Tre newspaper, every morning when receiving the children into class, Ms. Linh and the nannies all smiled warmly. However, as soon as the children's parents left, or during meals, they brutally beat the children.
Many children were slapped repeatedly in the face, beaten with soup spoons, and had oil bottles smashed on their heads... until they were dizzy. During bedtime, a boy was thrown into a corner and kicked in the stomach by the nanny.
Carrying her child to the kindergarten gate, Ms. Le Thi Xinh (25 years old) had red eyes. Working as a garment worker, she did not have time to look after her 2-year-old son, so she had to send him here for nearly a year at a cost of 1.2 million VND per month.
"Every morning when I take my child to class, he cries and refuses to go in. I didn't expect the teachers to be so cruel because when they pick him up, they are very welcoming and smiling," Ms. Xinh said in tears.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bao Hien (23 years old) and her family brought her 3-year-old son, indignant: "How can she be so cruel? I did not treat them badly. Just on November 20, I came to give them a gift, and I paid a lot of money every month, but they beat and threatened my son and the other children with a knife. This is the reason why my son often cries in pain every time he comes home from school."
Living near this kindergarten, Ms. Le Thi Hong Thuy used to send her child to the school for more than 10 months. Later, when she discovered that her child often had bruises, complained about sore legs, and heard her child talk about being beaten, she stopped sending her child there.
"She has been doing this for a long time. This facility also does not have cameras so many parents cannot monitor," said Ms. Thuy.

Colonel Nguyen Sy Quang - Chief of Office of Ho Chi Minh City Police -said that the nannies' behavior not only violated ethics and professional standards but also violated the law.
"During the investigation into the nannies' behavior, if it constitutes a crime under the law, we will resolutely handle it," said Mr. Quang./.
