On October 10, Hurricane Milton moved through the US state of Florida after making landfall on the state's west coast a few hours earlier.

Dozens of tornadoes in the storm killed at least two people, destroyed homes and left about 3 million customers without power.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) said that after making landfall in Florida on the morning of October 10, Vietnam time, as a Category 3 storm, by the afternoon of the same day, Hurricane Milton had weakened to a Category 1 storm, with wind speeds of 150km/h and was moving towards the Atlantic Ocean. However, the situation remained dangerous due to heavy rain and high waves.

The eye of the storm is currently located about 17km northwest of Cape Canaveral, a NASA Space Force station.

According to Poweroutage.us, a US power grid monitoring website, at least 3 million homes and businesses in Florida lost power due to the storm. The Gulf Coast, including Hardee, Sarasota, Hillsborough and Manatee counties, was the hardest hit by the outages.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said Milton spawned at least 19 tornadoes, causing damage across multiple counties and destroying about 125 homes, most of them manufactured. High winds also toppled a large construction crane in St. Petersburg, causing the structure to collapse onto a deserted street.

Also in Florida, which has not yet had time to rebuild after the severe consequences of Hurricane Helene two weeks ago, 2 million people in this state and millions of others living in the storm's expected path have been ordered to evacuate.

Experts estimate the damage caused by both hurricanes Helene and Milton to be in the billions of dollars./.
