American media outlets have selected two Vietnamese hotels as having the best spas in the world.

Readers of the renowned American travel magazine Travel + Leisure, which specializes in writing about the best hotels, destinations, and companies in the travel industry, have just voted The Nam Hai (Hoi An) and Sofitel Legend Metropole (Hanoi) as two of the five best spa hotels in the world.

This is one of the categories in the World's Best Awards 2013, organized by Travel + Leisure magazine through an annual reader poll.

The criteria for selecting spas, as judged by Travel + Leisure readers, are based on factors such as: ambiance, treatment packages, services, facilities, and the value of the service for the money spent. According to the Travel + Leisure reader poll, in the category of "10 best spa hotels in the world," The Nam Hai - Hoi An ranked 4th and Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi ranked 5th.

In addition to the World's Best Awards 2013, The Nam Hai was also ranked 12th in the "Best Resorts in Asia" category by Travel + Leisure magazine. The Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi was also recognized in two other categories: 8th in "Best Urban Hotel - Asia" and 52nd in "Top 100 Hotels in the World". Furthermore, Vietnam also had a hotel honored: the Park Hyatt Saigon, ranked 17th in the "Best Urban Hotel - Asia" category.

The results of the World's Best Awards will be published in Travel + Leisure magazine, which will be available at newsstands in the US on July 19th.
