US newspaper asks 'who needs Ukraine'?
(Baonghean.vn) - Analysts from Foreign Policy Magazine said that US President Joe Biden could not convince Americans of the need for military and financial aid to Ukraine.

Ria Novosti quoted an analysis titled "How many conflicts can the US engage in at once" in Foreign Policy magazine, saying that US President Joe Biden is trying to link aid to Ukraine and Israel. However, this could lead to dissatisfaction even among Democratic lawmakers.
"The president never wanted to explain why Americans should care about Gaza or Ukraine. He said that if Putin didn't stop in Ukraine, he would go to Poland. If someone doesn't care about Ukraine, why care about Poland? Who cares about Ukraine?" - Foreign Policy journalist Emma Ashford noted.
Meanwhile, journalist Matthew Kroenig, co-author of the analysis, added that President Joe Biden had planned to dedicate a White House speech to Ukraine from the beginning of the conflict. According to Kroenig, voters of the Joe Biden administration would not appreciate the attempt to link the Ukraine conflict with the conflict in the Middle East.
"Ukraine currently enjoys broad support from Democrats, but they are divided on the issue of the Palestine-Israel conflict," said journalist Kroenig.
Previously, the new Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, did not support President Joe Biden's $106 billion aid package. The Republicans in the House of Representatives also said that Israel should not be used as leverage to aid Ukraine.
Furthermore, regarding aid to Kiev, Mr. Mike Johnson emphasized that he wanted to know what the goals and "final moves" in Ukraine were, but the White House had not yet provided that information.
According to Ria Novosti, recently, Western media have increasingly mentioned that Ukraine's allies have begun to tire of the conflict, as well as that support for President Volodymyr Zelensky's administration is declining.
The New York Times reports that the reality is that Ukraine has not only lost media attention, but also ammunition. Although President Joe Biden has pledged support to both Kiev and Tel Aviv, Israel will ultimately be the destination for the weapons, which were planned to be supplied to Ukraine.
