Nghe An Newspaper offers flowers and incense to commemorate heroic martyrs

On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), on the morning of July 24, a delegation of Nghe An Newspaper visited and offered flowers and incense at the Kim Lien Special National Historical Relic Site, Truong Bon National Historical Relic Site and the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs Cemetery.

The delegation of Nghe An Newspaper was led by Comrade Ngo Duc Kien - Party Secretary, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper. The delegation included Comrade Tran Huu Nghia - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper; heads and deputy heads of specialized departments; officers, reporters, editors, and staff of Nghe An Newspaper.

In the sacred atmosphere at the Kim Lien National Historical Site, the collective leadership, cadres, reporters, editors, and staff of Nghe An Newspaper respectfully offered incense, expressing their infinite gratitude for the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh - the genius leader of our Party and People; an outstanding activist in the international communist and workers' movement; a national liberation hero, an outstanding cultural celebrity.

Next, the delegation of Nghe An Newspaper offered incense and flowers at Truong Bon National Historical Relic Site - a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism and the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery.

During the resistance war against the US, Truong Bon was the place where hundreds of thousands of young people crossed Truong Son to save the country. Young men and women in their late teens and early twenties went into the fire with optimism and responsibility to protect the Fatherland. 1,240 outstanding sons of the nation fell on this legendary road, typified by the heroic sacrifice of 13 young volunteers of Company 317 on October 31, 1968.

The Vietnam-Laos International Martyrs Cemetery is the resting place of 10,804 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who fought and died in Laos. Since its establishment, the cemetery has received and cared for nearly 11,000 remains of martyrs who died on the battlefield in Laos, including nearly 7,000 graves with unknown names.

In a solemn, respectful and emotional atmosphere, the delegation of Nghe An Newspaper offered flowers and incense to commemorate and express their infinite gratitude to generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and for the noble international revolutionary cause.

In front of the heroic martyrs, the collective leadership, cadres, reporters and staff of Nghe An Newspaper pledge to build Nghe An Newspaper stronger and stronger; continue to affirm its important position and role as a sharp ideological weapon of the Party, an effective means of information and propaganda of Party committees and authorities at all levels; and a trusted forum for Party members and people of the province.
