(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of June 16, in Hanoi, the National Traffic Safety Committee held the 2021 Press Awards Ceremony and launched the "2022 Traffic Safety Propaganda Press Award".

Attending the award ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Van The - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Transport, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee; Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Permanent Member of the National Traffic Safety Committee; Khuat Viet Hung - Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee.

Also attending were representatives of central ministries, departments and branches; representatives of leaders of central and local press agencies, and authors and groups of authors whose works were honored at the Award Ceremony.

In 2021, the traffic safety propaganda journalism award attracted 517 works from reporters and groups of reporters from press agencies across the country.
Notably, among the entries, there are many long-term series of articles, which have been painstakingly produced, many series of articles are topical, have the nature of discovery and reflect honestly and objectively the current situation of traffic order and safety in localities and nationwide, ensuring correct propaganda of the Party's policies and the State's laws and policies on traffic safety.

In addition to the press works that closely follow the theme of the 2021 traffic safety year "Improving the effectiveness and efficiency of law enforcement to ensure traffic order and safety", many works continue to mention issues of concern to the whole society such as handling violations related to alcohol concentration; overloaded and oversized vehicles; handling black spots; illegal racing... Through that, press works propose and suggest many new solutions to control and minimize traffic accidents, as well as discover typical examples, creative models, good experiences in the work of ensuring traffic order and safety.

Accordingly, the National Traffic Safety Committee selected and awarded 32 individual prizes, including: 2 First prizes, 5 Second prizes, 10 Third prizes, 15 Encouragement prizes for print and electronic newspaper works. Along with that, 3 collective prizes with the largest number of entries and 1 press photo prize.

Nghe An Newspaper was honored to have 2 award-winning works, including Emagazine on the series of articles "Erasing black spots to reduce traffic accidents" by authors Khanh Ly - Dang Cuong won Third Prize and the series of articles "If you drink alcohol, do not drive" by authors Nhat Lan - Dang Cuong won Encouragement Prize.

Recognizing and praising the contributions of press agencies, journalists in general and journalists in particular in ensuring traffic order and safety, comrade Nguyen Van The - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Transport, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee assessed that press works with diverse forms of propaganda have contributed to raising awareness, creating positive changes in the behavior of traffic participants, thereby forming a traffic culture as well as helping authorities perfect legal regulations,...

Accordingly, he noted that the number of vehicles continues to increase, while the conditions and capacity of infrastructure are still limited, creating huge challenges for the work of ensuring traffic order and safety. This requires the entire political system to continue to take more drastic and effective actions, implementing synchronous solutions. In particular, there needs to be the role and contribution of press agencies and journalists in continuing to pay attention, stick together, and join hands with the National Traffic Safety Committee, ministries, branches, and localities in the work of propaganda, dissemination, and education of traffic laws, building a culture of safe traffic for people, and actively participating in responding to the awards to have more entries, more good works, and win higher prizes.

On this occasion, the National Traffic Safety Committee officially launched the "2022 Traffic Safety Journalism Award" with the theme "Building a safe traffic culture, associated with effective control of the Covid-19 epidemic".

The Traffic Safety Journalism Award is an annual activity, held since 2012. The award aims to commend, honor, and promptly reward authors and journalistic works that are valuable in content, form, and have a positive impact and spread to society in ensuring traffic safety and order; thereby encouraging press agencies and journalists to actively participate in the work of propagating and disseminating laws on traffic safety and order, contributing to the sustainable reduction of traffic accidents nationwide.
