Nghe An Newspaper wins the B Prize at the Dien Hong Awards.

In order to continue innovating and improving the quality and effectiveness of information and communication work on the activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils, contributing to enhancing the position and role of the National Assembly and People's Councils, the Party Committee of the 15th National Assembly issued Conclusion No. 1295/KL-DDQH15 on organizing the National Journalism Award on the National Assembly and People's Councils (Dien Hong Award).

Accordingly, the National Assembly Office is the lead agency, coordinating with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Journalists Association, and Vietnam Television to organize the Dien Hong Award.

The competition is held annually, once a year in the first week of January. The first Dien Hong Competition was held in June 2023.

After more than four months since its launch, the first Dien Hong Award received 3,328 journalistic works from 171 domestic and international media outlets, and 7 Offices of the National Assembly Delegation and People's Council.

The figures mentioned above demonstrate the appeal and attractiveness of the Dien Hong Award to the media and society, not only domestically but also internationally. According to the judging panel, this is a high-quality award and will be an important journalistic award in our country's revolutionary journalism awards system.

The judging panel, comprised of reputable and experienced journalists who worked diligently, meticulously, impartially, and objectively, selected 67 outstanding works to award the first National Journalism Prize on the National Assembly and People's Councils (Dien Hong Prize), including 5 A Prizes, 13 B Prizes, 16 C Prizes, and 31 Encouragement Prizes.

Nghe An Newspaper won the B prize with its 5-part special series: "Deserving to be an elected representative" by the team of authors: Ngo Duc Chuyen, Nguyen Thanh Duy, Nguyen Mai Hoa, and Hoang Thi Hoa.

In addition, the Organizing Committee of the Award selected and presented Certificates of Merit from the Head of the National Assembly Office to 20 collectives with outstanding achievements and significant contributions to the success of the first Dien Hong Award - 2023.

The works selected for the Dien Hong Award are meticulously and scientifically produced, of high quality, and worthy of the award in both content and form; among them are multi-part series of articles employing modern propaganda methods.

The content of the works vividly reflects the theme of the Dien Hong Award; many works closely followed the process of improving and innovating the organization and operation of the National Assembly and People's Councils, reflecting the pulse of life, the thoughts and aspirations of voters and the people, and proposing ideas to improve the quality and effectiveness of the activities of elected bodies; highlighting the position and role of the National Assembly and People's Councils, focusing on reflecting the activities of the National Assembly delegations, National Assembly deputies, and People's Council representatives, with a strong impact on society and the public.

At the ceremony, representatives of the Party and State leadership, members of the National Assembly Standing Committee, and leaders of central and local departments, ministries, and agencies presented the Dien Hong Award to the authors and groups of authors who won the award, as well as to the units that made positive contributions to the success of the award.

Following the Award Ceremony, the Head of the Steering Committee for the Dien Hong Award, Politburo member and Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, launched the second Dien Hong Award - 2024.

The second Dien Hong Award Ceremony will be held in early January 2024 to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2024).

Earlier that afternoon, the delegation of the National Assembly of Nghe An province, led by Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation - met with and congratulated the group of authors.
