Nghe An Newspaper won the C prize of the 2018 National Press Award
(Baonghean.vn) - Among 106 excellent works selected by the Organizing Committee to award prizes, Nghe An Newspaper won the C prize, with the work "Exposing cross-border human trafficking tricks" by the group of authors Tien Hung - Pham Bang.
On the evening of June 21, the 13th National Press Awards Ceremony - 2018 was solemnly held at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace, on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2019).

Attending the award ceremony were Politburo members: Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Prime Minister; Tran Quoc Vuong - Standing member of the Secretariat; Pham Minh Chinh - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Commission; Vo Van Thuong - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission; Nguyen Van Binh - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Economic Commission.
The Central Party Secretaries include: Nguyen Hoa Binh - Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court; Phan Dinh Trac - Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; Nguyen Xuan Thang - Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.
The Central Party Committee members include: Do Ba Ty - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Thuan Huu - Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association.
The award ceremony was also attended by leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front; representatives of departments, ministries, and branches; veteran journalists and a large number of journalists nationwide.
The 2018 National Press Awards had 106 winning works, including 6 A prizes, 24 B prizes, 42 C prizes, and 34 Encouragement prizes. These are excellent works selected from 1,671 entries submitted by press agencies nationwide.
Nghe An Newspaper has 1 work that won the C prize, National Press Award in 2018, which is the investigative report (4 episodes): "Exposing cross-border human trafficking tricks" by the group of authors Tien Hung - Pham Bang.
Comrade Thuan Huu - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the XIII National Press Awards Council said that these are typical works in terms of content and form, which have the ability to orient public opinion, have good social impact, have been received and resolved by functional agencies, and are highly appreciated by public opinion for their role in discovering, arguing, fighting, criticizing as well as praising and building the press.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent his best wishes to Vietnamese journalists, veteran journalists, relatives and families of martyrs and war invalids, and a large number of people working in printing and distributing newspapers nationwide.

The press has truly become a sharp weapon of the Party and the State on the ideological and cultural front, a trusted forum for the people, always taking the lead in propagating, organizing and mobilizing the people to implement the Party's renewal guidelines and the State's policies and laws.

The 2018 National Press Awards have more than 120 association-level units and 222 collaborators, participating in 11 types of awards according to regulations. Of which, there are 57 units of the Inter-Association and affiliated Associations. Notably, this year is the second consecutive year with 63 provincial and municipal Journalists Associations participating.
According to the assessment of the Final Jury, the overall quality of the entries is more even, especially the rise of provincial and municipal journalist associations. Many articles have good discovery, reflecting hot issues that are of public interest. Many works of local press agencies are in the genres of reportage, investigative reportage, journalistic notes, notes, etc.
This year, for the first time, the Award Council established an Evaluation Board to objectively and independently review the finalist works, providing additional assessments and analysis from experts, and in-depth professional advice to the Finalist Council.
"This year's National Press Awards continue to be organized seriously, with quality and increasingly professional. In particular, this year, for the second time, all 63 provincial and municipal Journalists Associations participated in the award, affirming the prestige and high attraction of the award", said Mr. Thuan Huu - Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the National Press Awards Council in 2018.
