(Baonghean.vn) - Upholding the tradition of solidarity and the moral principle of "Love others as you love yourself," on the morning of October 3rd, Nghe An Newspaper organized a ceremony to launch a campaign to support and share the difficulties with the people in localities affected by natural disasters.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Comrade Ngo Duc Kien - Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper emphasized: In recent days, due to the influence of the remnants of typhoon No. 4, Nghe An province has continuously suffered from heavy rains, causing flash floods.flash flood, landslides and widespread flooding, especially in theKy Son districtQuynh Luu, Thanh Chuong, Hung Nguyen, Nghi Loc, Hoang Mai town, Tan Ky, Do Luong, Anh Son... caused heavy losses in terms of human lives and property.

He shared in the difficulties and losses that the people in the localities are experiencing, and extended his deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.

To date, the province has reported 8 deaths; 8,373 houses flooded (at one point on September 30, 2022, the number was 17,489); 1,392 households displaced; 40 houses damaged by over 70%; 158 houses with roofs blown off or severely damaged; 292 houses affected by landslides; 66 hamlets and villages isolated; and 3,971 households cut off... Many schools, hospitals, and public works have been damaged or flooded, and vital transportation routes in many areas are cut off and isolated.

Upholding the national tradition of mutual support and compassion, "the strong helping the weak," immediately after the fundraising campaign was launched, the staff, reporters, and employees of Nghe An Newspaper raised a total of nearly 22 million VND to help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters and quickly stabilize their lives.

Previously, the Editorial Board of Nghe An Newspaper also directed the establishment of a rapid response team of reporters in flood-affected areas to promptly report and disseminate weather information to the public; and the directives and guidance on overcoming the consequences of natural disasters from all levels and sectors.
