Nghe An Newspaper continues to deliver gifts from readers to Phuc-Loc.
(Baonghean.vn) - The Nghe An Newspaper, issue 9860, published on June 3, 2014, and in the "Golden Heart" section (baonghean.vn) on June 3, 2014, featured an article titled "Life is fragile.This article is about the illnesses of two children, Vo Kim Phuc (born in 2011) and Vo Kim Loc (born in 2013), sons of Mr. Vo Kim Dung (born in 1983) and Ms. Nguyen Thi An (born in 1987) in Hamlet 5, Thach Son Commune, Anh Son District.As of today (June 12th), Nghe An Newspaper continues to receive support from readers for the two children, Phuc and Loc. On June 12th, Nghe An Newspaper promptly delivered the gifts from benefactors to the two children.
Phuc and Loc were born with congenital burns and necrotizing dermatitis, for which there is no specific treatment. Currently, Phuc's two feet are fused together and in a state of necrosis, with most of his toes eroded and amputated. On June 12th, thanks to the generosity of many readers both domestically and internationally, Phuc was able to be transferred from Anh Son District Hospital to his home so that his family can prepare to take both children to the National Children's Hospital for treatment.
After reading the article in Nghe An Newspaper, many readers nationwide and abroad have continued to send money through Nghe An Newspaper to support Phuc and Loc in their medical treatment.
From June 6th to June 12th, Nghe An Newspaper received generous donations from readers for the two children, Phuc and Loc, as follows: Le Dinh Huy transferred 200 USD (equivalent to 4,236,000 VND) from abroad; an anonymous reader directly contacted the Nghe An Newspaper office to transfer 2,000,000 VND; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Tuyet from Ho Chi Minh City donated 500,000 VND.

To provide timely financial support for the children's medical treatment, on June 12th, representatives from Nghe An Newspaper personally handed over the aforementioned sum of money to the families of the two children in the presence of representatives from the District Fatherland Front and the Party Committee and People's Committee of Thach Son commune.
Deeply moved, the parents of the two children expressed their gratitude for the kindness of readers near and far, stating that on the morning of June 12th, two charitable groups from Vinh City directly visited their home to donate 7,000,000 VND, a water-cooled fan, and money to support the parents' travel expenses to bring the two children to Hanoi for treatment; and a Vietnamese expatriate from the US directly transferred 100 USD to the two children.In the future, the editorial office hopes to continue receiving generous donations to help those in particularly difficult circumstances.
