(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, officials and reporters of Nghe An Newspaper made a pilgrimage to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs in Con Dao - a sacred land marking the indomitable struggle of heroes, revolutionary soldiers, and patriots during the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism of our people.

One of the delegation's destinations was Hang Duong Cemetery - covering an area of about 20 hectares, the resting place of more than 20,000 revolutionary soldiers and Vietnamese patriots who were imprisoned for 113 years and sacrificed their lives under the brutality of French colonialism and American imperialism. Area B is also the resting place of Nguyen An Ninh - a son of Long An - one of the outstanding revolutionary soldiers who participated in activities with leader Nguyen Ai Quoc. Through the press, especially the "Chuong re" newspaper, he aroused the patriotic tradition of the nation, guided and gathered the masses to fight against the French colonial rule.
