International newspapers praise Xuan Truong after signing contract with Gangwon FC

Fox Sport has just expressed its admiration for Luong Xuan Truong when this player just completed his contract to move to Gangwon Club.

Fox Sport said that this was an “impressive” deal for the Korean club: “Gangwon FC – the team that was just promoted to K-League Classic – chose Xuan Truong as its first foreign player.

Besides, Xuan Truong is also the first Vietnamese player to play in the highest league of Korea. This player has just experienced an AFF Cup and a friendly tournament of U21 Thanh Nien Newspaper which were not really successful.

Gangwon FC, after recruiting Xuan Truong, also announced: "We tried very hard to get Xuan Truong's signature since the summer but that effort was unsuccessful. We resumed negotiations after winning promotion and everything went smoothly."

Coach Choi Yun-kyum of Gangwon FC also coached Xuan Truong when he was working at HAGL Club in Vietnam.

He declared: "I used to lead HAGL from 2011-2014. At that time, I knew Xuan Truong but I did not think that one day he would be my student in K-League. In the new season, I will give Truong many opportunities if he can show his ability. That's for sure."

Gangwon's contract also attracted the attention of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) when the agency's homepage posted information about this transfer and called Xuan Truong "a pioneer of Vietnamese football challenging at the K-League tournament"./.
