Spanish newspaper reports Ronaldo - Bale conflict escalates
The two Real Madrid stars are said to be unhappy with each other after the 1-1 draw with Atletico last weekend.
According to Diario Gol (Spain), Real Madrid's backstage is in turmoil as Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale have a conflict. The Welsh midfielder wants Ronaldo to be removed from the starting lineup, making room for more deserving players, such as Alvaro Morata or James Rodriguez.
Ronaldo has scored 19 goals this season in La Liga but is no longer at the top of his game as in previous years. However, the Portuguese striker is still treated like a king in Madrid, rarely having to sit on the bench. That is why Bale spoke up.

Bale and Ronaldo both have reasons for their form to demand the other be left out of the starting lineup. |
However, Ronaldo is not a gentle player who likes to be patient. CR7 counterattacked, wanting to remove Bale from the main squad. The reason Ronaldo gave was that Bale had lost his form since returning from injury, scoring only two goals in the last eight matches. This is the Welsh midfielder's worst statistic since joining Real.
The conflict between Ronaldo and Bale, if true as reported by Diario Goal, will be the top concern of coach Zinedine Zidane, as Real is entering the most important stage of the season.
In La Liga, Real have a chance to win the title for the first time since 2012, as they are three points ahead of Barca with a game in hand. They also have a tough Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich this midweek. If the team is not united, it will be difficult for Zidane and his team to achieve good results against tough opponents.
