The Times newspaper launches an online section in the Chinese language.

On June 16th, in Hanoi, Thời Đại Newspaper, the forum of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, launched its online section in Chinese.

The website comprises 20 pages and 80 categories, primarily focusing on socio-political issues and people-to-people diplomacy. The main domain is Shidai.com.vn; Shidai.vn, and the subdomains are cn.Shidai.com.vn; cn.Shidai.vn, providing information on the life, country, and people of Vietnam; and the political relationship between Vietnam and China. Notably, the website includes a section on maritime issues, continuously updating information on the struggle to protect territorial sovereignty.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Mr. Le Quang Thien, Editor-in-Chief of Thoi Dai newspaper, said: “To date, the country has dozens of newspapers and online information sites in Chinese, but this is the first time we have a dedicated online platform expressing the official voice of the Vietnamese people and Vietnamese political and social organizations in this language. The mission of this website is to help international friends and people around the world understand more accurately and fully about Vietnam, its people, the policies of the Party and State, and our country's reform and integration process; and at the same time contribute to raising the understanding and awareness of all levels of society about Vietnam's foreign policy, the world situation, and global issues.”

Mr. Vu Xuan Hong, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, said that after launching the website in Chinese, the union will continue to prepare for the launch of websites in Russian and English in the near future.
