Arrested 02 subjects, seized 40kg of explosives and 200 detonators
(Baonghean.vn) - On November 19, Cua Lo Town Police said that the unit had just successfully broken up a case, arresting two subjects for illegally trading explosives. The seized evidence included 40 kg of explosives and 200 detonators.
Previously, through the work of grasping the situation, Cua Lo town police discovered a number of subjects in the area colluding and connecting with subjects in other areas to illegally buy and sell explosives from neighboring districts to Cua Lo town for consumption. The subjects operated very sophisticatedly, frequently changing their methods of operation, causing difficulties for the police force's fight.

Faced with the above situation, Cua Lo Town Police established a special project to combat it. During the monitoring process, the Special Project Board discovered that Phung Ba Cuc (born in 1957), residing in Nghi Thuy Ward, Cua Lo Town, regularly contacted and met with a number of subjects outside the area to discuss buying and selling.explosiveAmong them, Nguyen Chuong Chien (born in 1993), residing in Dong Hieu commune, Thai Hoa town, emerged.
During the investigation, at 6:35 p.m. on November 17, 2021, the detectives discovered Cuc driving a motorbike in the direction of Nghi Thiet commune (Nghi Loc district) across the Nghi Quang commune bridge (Nghi Loc district) to Cua Lo town; behind the motorbike were 2 cardboard boxes, with many personal items on top for camouflage.
When arriving at block 07, Nghi Tan ward, Cua Lo town, realizing that the opportunity was ripe, Cua Lo town police, in coordination with the functional department of the provincial police and the Border Guard Station of Cua Lo - Ben Thuy Port, caught the subject red-handed for illegally buying and selling explosives.

At the scene, the police seized from Phung Ba Cuc's car 2 cardboard boxes containing 200 explosives weighing 40kg, 200 detonators, 1 motorbike, and 1 mobile phone. At the police station, Cuc admitted to the crime.
Expanding the investigation, at 10 p.m. the same day, Cua Lo Town Police arrested Nguyen Chuong Chien, seized 16 million VND and related exhibits. Through the investigation, Chien confessed: After purchasing explosives and detonators from Quy Hop district, Chien brought them to his house to keep. After agreeing on the transaction with Cuc, Chien brought the explosives to the border area between Nghi Loc district and Dien Chau district to deliver to Cuc.
Currently, Cua Lo town police are continuing to fight and expand the case.
