Two HIV-infected individuals arrested for extorting money from students.

(Baonghean.vn) -Severely addicted to drugs and suffering from HIV, Giang and Hung repeatedly sneaked into student dormitories to threaten and extort money.

On the morning of May 26th, information from the Quy Chau District Police indicated that they had arrested two drug addicts and HIV-infected individuals for threatening and extorting money from students. The two arrested individuals are Nguyen Cong Giang (born in 1993, residing in Hanh Khai Hamlet, Tan Lac Town, Quy Chau District) and Truong Van Hung (born in 1986, residing in Ta Lanh Village, Chau Hanh Commune, Quy Chau District).

Giang and Hung, both infected with HIV, threatened and extorted money from students.

According to the police investigation, Nguyen Cong Giang is a heavy drug addict, living a free life without a stable job. Giang has a prior record for illegally possessing and using narcotics and has been administratively penalized by the authorities. To obtain money to buy drugs, Giang devised a plan to extort money from students in boarding houses, high school dormitories, and vocational training centers in Quy Chau district.

At noon on April 19th, Giang broke into the dormitory of the Quy Chau District Vocational Training Center with the intention of causing trouble and threatening students to extort money. When he failed to get money, Giang turned to using a knife to threaten them and demand mobile phones and other valuables.

Subsequently, on the night of May 22nd, Giang persuaded Truong Van Hung to break into the rented room of a group of students in Block 4, Tan Lac town (Quy Chau district) and threaten them to extort their belongings. There, Giang pretended to be writhing and screaming while Hung threatened the students, demanding their money quickly or he would have a seizure and spray them with HIV-infected blood. Terrified by a drug addict infected with HIV, the students handed over all the meager money their parents had sent them for their education.

Following a report from the public, the Quy Chau District police quickly launched an investigation and arrested two suspects, Nguyen Cong Giang and Truong Van Hung.

The Quy Chau District Police are currently finalizing the case file to prosecute the two suspects for the crime of "extortion".
