Arrested 3 subjects building secret tunnels to produce fireworks

According to information from Thanh Hoa Police, at around 10:25 p.m. on November 29, through investigation and situation assessment, Nong Cong District Police discovered and caught Le Van Anh (born in 1985), residing in Tan Phuc Commune, illegally storing 29 kg of firecrackers.

Expanding the investigation, the authorities arrested two more subjects: Nguyen Quang Dung (born 1985) and Hoang Xuan Thanh (born 1991), both in Tan Phuc commune, Nong Cong district.

During an urgent search of Hoang Xuan Thanh's residence, the police discovered a secret cellar about 5.5 meters long located right inside the level 4 house, with a door just wide enough for one person to enter and exit, using a secure electronic lock.

This is where the subject used to produce fireworks. In this basement, the authorities seized many objects related to the production of fireworks.

The exhibits include: 54.8 kg of various types of powders used to color fireworks; 10 kg of finished color particles used to color fireworks; 2.2 kg of explosives; 7 kg of paper firework tubes; 2 devices for making color particles used to color fireworks and slow-burning fuses, along with many other objects and documents related to the production of fireworks.

At the police station, Thanh confessed that because he did not have a stable job, he went online to learn the formula and how to produce fireworks and ordered raw materials online to produce fireworks.

After completing the finished fireworks, Thanh labeled them like illegal foreign fireworks and sold them to those who wanted to buy them for 800,000 VND/box of 36 fireworks.
