Despite the danger, many people in Nghe An still risk their lives to catch fish during the flood season.
In recent days, Nghe An has been hit by heavy rains causing flooding. After the floods, many people in the flooded areas still risk their lives to go fishing in the rushing water despite the lurking danger.
Recorded in Giai Xuan commune, Tan Ky district since September 23, heavy rain and floodwaters from everywhere have caused flooding, many people waded into raging floodwaters in streams and creeks to catch fish.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh in Giai Xuan commune wades in the stream to cast his net and said: On these rainy days, if you work hard to cast your net, you can catch 5-7 kg of fish per day to improve your income. However, casting your net along the streams and creeks is very dangerous, if you accidentally step on a slippery rock, you will be swept away into the water.

In the flooded fields in Nghia Hoan commune, Tan Ky district, we saw people still using fragile corrugated iron boats to go to the flooded fields or canal banks to pull nets.
A representative of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tan Ky district said: Tan Ky area has the Con River and many streams, lakes, and dams. When there is heavy rain, water from upstream flows down, causing the water levels of rivers, streams, and streams to rise very quickly.

To limit possible drowning accidents, the district has directed communes to strictly prohibit fishing during the flood season. However, there are still cases of people fishing during the flood season, posing a potential safety risk.
In Yen Thanh district, since September 23, many areas have been flooded, mixed with the rushing floodwaters are a lot of shrimp and fish, so many people took the opportunity to go to the fields to catch them.

Arriving at Dinh River in Yen Thanh Town, Yen Thanh District, we saw some people using bamboo boats to cast nets on Dinh River, without protective gear or life buoys, which was very dangerous. Also at this section of the river, some people stood on the bank to cast nets, even using electric shocks to stimulate fish.
In Long Thanh commune, on rainy days the water level rises but people do not use boats, wade into the rice fields to cast nets to catch fish, the risk of drowning is very high.
