Arrest of Chairman and General Director of Bac Giang Minerals Joint Stock Company

On the evening of February 21, the Investigation Police Agency - Ministry of Public Security said that it is investigating a case with signs of law violations occurring at Bac Giang Mineral Joint Stock Company.

The investigation agency determined that from May 2017 to the end of December 2022, Bac Giang Minerals Company and Xuan An One Member Co., Ltd. exploited coal at Bo Ha coal mine exceeding the granted reserves, causing damage to state assets.

On the same day, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency issued a decision.prosecuteaccused, temporarily detained 4 accused and released on bail 1 accused for the crime of Violating regulations on research, exploration and exploitation of resources, as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 227 of the Penal Code.

Accordingly, the defendants who were temporarily detained include: Duong Van Dung (Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bac Giang Minerals Joint Stock Company), Ha Van Hoe (General Director of the company), Pham Thanh Thach (Deputy General Director) and Nguyen Van Thao (Deputy Director of Xuan An LLC). Defendant Nguyen Thi Hong Tham (Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Xuan An LLC) was released on bail.

On the same day, the Supreme People's Procuracy approved the above decisions and orders. The Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency executed the arrest warrants to temporarily detain and search the suspects.
