Kidnapping for ransom and then stabbing two police officers, injuring them

On the morning of December 15, Colonel Do Van Xuyen - Head of Krong Buk District Police (Dak Lak Province), said that he was coordinating with Dak Ha District Police (Kon Tum Province) to investigate the kidnapping, extortion and injury of two police officers and the victim's mother.

According to Colonel Xuyen, on the afternoon of December 14, Bui Cong Tuan Bang (born in 1981, residing in Dak Ha district, province) went to the kindergarten of Vo Nguyen Ngoc Duyen A. (born in 2014, residing in Krong Buk district) to pick up A.

After picking up A, Bang called Vo Thi Yen Duyen (A's mother) to demand a ransom of 15 million. However, Duyen did not believe him and asked for her phone to talk to her child. After the conversation, Duyen agreed to meet Bang to give him the money and report to the investigation agency.

After that, Bang made an appointment with Ms. Duyen to go to Pleiku City Airport (Gia Lai Province) and demanded an increase in the ransom to 100 million VND. Ms. Duyen agreed and went with the police of Krong Buk district to the meeting place, but the subject continued to make roundabout appointments in many places.

That same evening, Bang arranged to meet Ms. Duyen at a gas station in Dak Ha town (Dak Ha district). While Ms. Duyen was making a transaction, the police force rushed in. However, Bang fought back fiercely, stabbing Ms. Duyen and Senior Lieutenant Hoang Ba Hung (investigator) repeatedly, seriously injuring them; and Second Lieutenant Y Nguu (reconnaissance officer) was injured in the arm. The perpetrator Bang was arrested immediately. Currently, 3 people are being treated at Kon Tum Provincial General Hospital.

According to Colonel Xuyen, Bang and Ms. Duyen had a relationship before, lived together as husband and wife for a while then broke up. Child A is Ms. Duyen's child with her previous husband.
