On July 28, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Binh Thuan Provincial Police announced that they had coordinated with the Binh Duong Provincial Police to arrest and detain suspect Nguyen Quoc Dat (29 years old, residing in Ham Tan district, Binh Thuan province) in Thuan An city, Binh Duong province.

Along with executing the arrest warrant, the investigating agency searched the residence of the suspect Dat, and then transported him to the Binh Thuan Provincial Police for further investigation.

Due to needing money for personal expenses and debt repayment, Dat defrauded Mr. NVT, a conscript soldier at the prison where Dat worked, of approximately 950 million VND.

At that time, Dat boasted that he could arrange for Mr. T. to remain a professional in the police force and attend school.

Trusting him, Mr. T. gave Dat the money. However, after receiving the money, Dat cut off all contact with Mr. T. and went into hiding. In January 2022, Dat was dismissed from the police force.

Subsequently, Mr. T. filed a complaint against Dat for fraudulent behavior with the Binh Thuan Provincial Police.
