Preliminary judging of the 2015 National Press Awards begins

On April 19, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Journalists Association opened the preliminary round of the 2015 National Press Awards.

According to information from the Organizing Committee, as of March 18, the Vietnam Journalists Association has received more than 1,660 entries, of which 1,620 are eligible for the award.

This year, the number of entries increased by about 10% compared to 2014 (1,462 entries). 61/63 local Journalists Associations participated.

Specifically, this year there are 873 print works; 135 radio works; 347 television works; 152 electronic newspaper works; 113 photojournalism works.

The preliminary judging panel for the 2015 National Press Awards was established on April 12 and will work until May 12. The preliminary judging panel is chaired by Mr. Mai Duc Loc, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association. There are 10 sub-committees to select 11 types of awards according to the journalism genres in the competition.

The preliminary judging panel is expected to select 145 best works in 11 journalism categories for the final round. Of these, it is expected that 55 works will be selected from print journalism; 12 from photojournalism; 22 from radio journalism; 41 from television and 15 from online journalism./.
