Arrests made for trafficking 4 blocks of heroin.

(Baonghean.vn) -Upon receiving information from the public about a group of drug traffickers operating in Hoa Binh town, Tuong Duong district, the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department of the Nghe An Provincial Police dispatched a task force to coordinate with the Tuong Duong District Police, Traffic Control Team 1/7, and the Special Task Force for Drug Crime Prevention No. 2 of the Coast Guard to conduct covert surveillance of the group.

Authorities have drawn up a report to handle the incident.

At approximately 3:00 AM on April 3rd, when two suspected individuals on a motorbike appeared near the Hien Nga guesthouse in Hoa Binh town, the task force surrounded them and apprehended Lau Ba Denh (born in 1985), a Hmong man residing in Lien Son village, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district, in possession of four blocks of heroin. At the same time, the young man who was with Denh on the motorbike, standing in the guesthouse's parking lot, saw the police arresting Denh and threw a hand grenade at the officers before fleeing towards the gate and escaping into the night. Due to panic and haste, he did not have time to pull the pin, so the grenade did not explode.

The arresting force promptly brought Lau Ba Denh, along with 4 blocks of heroin and a grenade, to the police station. At the headquarters of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Lau Ba Denh confessed that he was carrying the 4 blocks of heroin to the Hien Nga guesthouse area to sell to someone there when he was caught red-handed by the police. In the presence of a representative from the Provincial People's Procuracy and after verification by the authorities, the 4 blocks of heroin seized weighed 1392.59 grams.

The incident is currently under further investigation.
